2007 Beach House Chardonnay
A stunning track record, in the top 10 in Cuisine 2000 and 2002, with all subsequent vintage selling out
quickly. This wine has the same potential. Aromas of mandarin, pineapple and peach with a nutty
seductively powerful ripe citrus palate. Barrel fermented and lees stirred, a fine textured and complex wine. As I write it already has THREE Gold medals.
notes
2007 Beach House Gewurztraminer
The Gewurztraminer grows beside the Riesling at Te Awanga with the sea breeze limiting the cropping volume and producing very concentrated fruit flavours. Intense aromas of rose petals, turkish delight and lychee with spicy flavours of dried pear and honey tea on the pallet. With 5 grams residual sugar this wine is officially dry but it is all about the pallet balance. Worth the wait after many years of fickle crops.
notes
2007 Beach House Riesling
The cool sea breezes of Te Awanga have preserved the delicate aromas of pears, very ripe
apples and orange blossom. The ferment stopped slightly sooner than last year with the higher
residual sugar, working well with the acid to carry the flavours longer, with a nice lime
finish. Age will give this wine a great complexity.
